The thing I like about UFC's compared to Pride or other NHB events is the cage/fence ring. It is tough to watch the cage live but for the action can't get stalled on issues that come with the ring. I have seen a several of the fighters cross over from to different shows so I believe the fighter caliber is pretty close if not equal. I give UFC an advantage given the cage factor and being the event does not get a lot of the stalls that happen in the other shows that are held in a boxing ring. I am involved with lots of events with the fight scene here in Colorado. The boxing rings work great for kickboxing, shoot boxing, mauy thai, you name it, but I find it has flaws when NHB or MMA events are held in those rings. We had a cage here in Colorado for several events and I found thouse fighters and fights did not have the issues you find in ringed matches. I would think a guy with lots of time in the UFC style ring would have an edge on a guy who has spent his time in the boxing ring style only...just my guess.

I understand your point.  One fight I had in a ring, my foot fell while while working an underhook for a take down from the clinch.  Luckily I got it back in though my knee was wrenched, he fell to his guard and was very strong so I had to pound him till the towel was thrown in.... I wished there was a fence that time.  Though that was the only problem I ever had in the ring...I just wouldn't want it again...

Yes, I watched that.  That LH fight was one of the best fights I have seen. Both of those guys deserved contracts.

I agree, I think they should have received equal prizes besides the contracts...but then again, it's not my money...

That Lh fight was awesome, I didn't see that much technique, but those guys were whaling on each other.  I thought they both men fought with an incredible amount of heart.  But I think it will be a couple of years before these guys can match up with some of the old timers.  Great fight though and I am looking forward to seeing the next season of Ultimate fighter.

I think I would agree with you guys on Randy Couture taking Silva, that guy is a big time stud for a man half his age.  But I think Liddell might take him out in their fight tomorrow night, it should rock and roll.
