Some Judo Ground Work
« on: June 04, 2007, 03:33:22 AM »

Some good judo newaza (ground fighting)

Historically, this is what Mitsu Maeda Koma taught Carlos Gracie.  Some say because Maeda was not in Brazil very long, he didn't teach Carlos the complete Kodokan judo system.

Fun to watch.  Nice video quality/production, nice clip transitions, & great music.  Thanks, Prof. Bishop, for finding this one!

Professor,
Thanks for the cool clip.  That was phenominal!!!  I think it's awesome to see these kinds of fighters as today you'd think BJJ is the only answer to grappling.  I think you could ask the unconscious guy in one of the matches if he thought Judo was really effective.  It's refreshing to see something that's been around awhile and is, perhaps more effective get some deserved attention.
