Please post some info about where one might go to obtain this membership, and I'm sure there will be more interest.

Thanks for any info,

Sigung Pat,

Sorry I don't have my card on me--but Yup, sure am. I only wish KSDI had a webpage of their own so it would be easier to find them.

KSDI is the Kajukenbo Self Defense Institute.  How does one become a member?  Not sure. Can someone explain, please....

I am a member of KSDI. My card number is 549. For those who asked, KSDI stands for the Kajukenbo Self Defense Institute and is Sijo Emperado's primary Kajukenbo organization.

As Sigung John Bishop stated, for more information contact Grandmaster DeChi Emperado at her web site which he listed.

This organization directly benefits Sijo and is a way for all of us to show our support to Sijo for creating this art we all love and respect.

Sigung Pat:
Perhaps you may want to post the fees, and a link to a K.S.D.I. application that can be downloaded or printed.
Then we can pin this topic to the top of this section.

There are many Kajukenbo associations and off shoots of Kajukenbo.  Very few of these associations pay any type of tribute or dues to the founder of our system.

The  K.S.D.I. is Sijo Emperado's association.  Dues and tribute to the K.S.D.I. goes to funding the annual birthday tournament/seminars/ and luau, where thousands of us get to meet Kajukenbo brothers and sisters from around the world each year.  It also helps provide some financial support for Sijo.

Lets face it.
WITHOUT SIJO THERE WOULD BE NO: Kajukenbo, Kajukembo, Kajukenpo, Karazempo Goshin Jitsu, CHA-3 Kenpo, Cerios Kenpo, Universal Kempo, Kenkabo, Shaolin Kempo, United Studios of Self Defense, Fred Villari's Studios of Self Defense, Hawaiian Kenpo, Ukidokan Karate, Oki-Ryu Kenpo, Ken-Ka Kung Fu, Tenchi Kenpo, Kachi Kenpo, Guatekenpo, and all the other off shoots of Kajukenbo.

So the main benefit you get from KSDI membership is supporting and being affliated with the man who made all the above systems possible.   The man who planted the seed for the system that you practice and love.
Any other benefits you might receive is just a little extra frosting on the cake.

Card number 478.

Along with the Guardians question, I wanted to ask, is it standard practice for only schools to register or do individuals register for membership even if their school hasn't?

Hey Mell,

Sorry for being facetious, but I didn't know Sifu Anderson changed his school.  Into counseling now, is he?...

Check out your signature....(marital vs. martial)  ;)
