HOW WOULD TRAIN AND PREPARE TO FIGHT....
« on: February 11, 2008, 12:44:06 PM »
Yourself in a mma bout/street fight? You ever think about that?

This is the kind of stuff I think about while I'm rush hour traffic. ;D

*I would try and end the fight quickly
*I would attack my right knee.
*Then my cardio etc..

Please share your thoughts with me?

I think that any fight is 85% mental and what is left is Reaction or action! in stating that; knowing what to do in a fight (action) and reaction coupled with Phsyical trials (practice) Prepairs you for any fight. theirs always the element of suprise but with proper mental and phsyical training action and reaction become second nature. Of course experience is the best teacher and with all the training you tend to devlope what is called a Warrior's Mind, its like a soilder in war and is in phsyical combat sitution; and its for real; it becomes instintive and never leaves you for the rest of your life. So what this means is that since your not in combat you will have to sharpen your mind skills so that your action and reaction work together in a focused and a Decissive manner. that why one of our quote's is " Mind controls the body Not vise a versa."  in fact their have been many studies of the fact; for instance the video call the "Secret" which give a simple and easy to learn method of how to control your mind and how to achive anyting in life just by these simple method's. I hope I have shed some light good luck in your quest!

Great points, sir. Asside from the obvious physical and mental points you bring out, I also believe that the spirit of the fighter is everything. Developing this survival spirit is essential in training the warrior and I believe that this is a training and personal imperative. I believe that Kajukenbo as a whole and in its parts embodies this "fighting spirit." I know that regardless of how long or how well the martial artist knows something, the best technique at the "wrong time" will most often fail, while the worse technique at the right time will succeed. Fighting spirit and "right timing" are essential to any efficient and effective attack/counter-attack.

you are absolutly correct about the fighting spirit. thats what is also called a warriors mind it deal with the fighting sprit, intution, will, intent, action and reaction and boarderline precognition, and the knowing, that can only be through the spirit. yes timing is important but if you look at most situtions; attacks are from known positions, unless they fall from the sky in which you would just step to your side. thats why our other motto is Mind Body and Spirit because they are all connected and work in unison to make you the best you can possibly be.
for all intensive purposes everyone has a fighting spirit weather or not they choose to use it is a matter of choice. If your son or daughter or someone you love was inpearl from an attack the choice would be clear. So it comes down to weather we choose to be prepared or not.
