How to Post Pictures
« on: September 16, 2003, 05:02:33 PM »
There are two ways to post pictures.  Small pictures can be posted directly from your computer by just:
1.  Going to the “Post Reply” page for your topic.
2.  At the bottom is a line named “Attach” with              a “Browse” button.
3.  Clicking on the “Browse” button will take you to your computer files.
4.  Find the filename for the picture you want to post and double click it.
5.  The file name should now show in the “Attach” line.
6.  Type whatever message text you want and then just click “Post”

Larger pictures, or multiple pictures can be posted by using one of  the “picture hosting websites” on the net.  A free one that I have had good luck with is: www.imagestation.com  You will have to have your pictures saved on the picture hosting site

1.  Go to your picture on the site and right click on the picture.
2.  You will see a drop down list. Click on “Properties”
3.  Hi lite the complete “Address” (ULR) and right click on it, and copy.
4.  Now go to the “start new topic” or “reply” on the Kajukenbo Café where you will post your pictures.
5.  At the top of the “Start New Topic” or “Reply” window you will see 2 rows of buttons.  Click the 4th from the left button on the second row.  Paste the "address" between the (img) and the (/img) symbols.  Except  "( )"  symbols will actually be  "[ ]" symbols.  Should look like this:

(img)http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid105/p5c760b6186feb21b7f8d610b53a2d748/f97492d8.jpg(/img)

6.  Write your text to go with the picture.  If you want to post more than one picture, then you will have to click the “Image” button for each picture and paste the address between the (img) and the (/img) symbols.

Sigung Bishop (or anyone else who knows),
I use my logo for my personal pic the same way a lot of members use their own image. However my logo pic is square and it gets distorted for this usage. See http://hokkien.uuft.org/patch.gif or http://hokkien.uuft.org/patchsmall.gif  How I can correct this?

Thanks,

You have to post your picture address:
http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid104/p449c15a59190d74f71309749ea29aa45/f9842c76.jpg

between the (img) and the (/img) symbols

Should look like this.

You can play with it some in the "Click and Learn" section.

One thing you could do is crop the image so there is no longer any extra space surrouding the patch. You see the white space on the top and bottem of the patch?
That should go.
You can use MSPaint [be sure to save the image as a .gif file] or Microsoft Word. When you click on the image, an image tool bar should pop up. There is the crop tool that you can use to 'cut off' the extra white area.

Now that you've done that, your image may or may not look right. If this is the case, you can resize the image to be smaller. Images often look better when resized. The you can put the resized image on a white background or whatever.

^^= I hope this helped!

I'm trying to practice attaching a picture from my computer and I follow all the step in the explanation but when I press preview I get this message"You may need to reattach any files you attached".  I tried using an address from another web page and I get it. I only want to know what I'm doing wrong that I can't attach from my computer file.
