Rule #1: You do not talk about Fight Club.
What does that mean to you?
To me it falls in line with, "What happens in Iraq stays in Iraq".
My students spar once a week. Although sparring is open to all that want to "fight", it's not mandatory to spar if you train under me.
My rule is that if you stay for the sparring that you must spar/fight at least 1 fight. Everyone of the students that stays, must spar/fight. No one is allowed to just stay and watch.
The students are told that what happens during this time stays there. they are not to talk about who hit who or any other details of this part of the training.
It's a matter of honor and respect for those willing to test their skills under pressure. There are no winners or losers. No telling so & so that he split Joe's lip or gave so & so a black eye, etc. I have no room for egos or braggarts in my class.
Thats why we dont talk about Fight Club or whateva you wanna call it.
If you fight, you will get beaten from time to time, but a true warrior will never be defeated.

PS
It helps to have a teacher that can suture too...
(He slipped and fell) Yep, that was it.
