I do like to shoot also and would be interested - but I am hesitant to burn through my ammo supply given the current lack of availability.

To borrow a quote from someone on the news recently "The problem with ammunition is simple - there is none"

My dad loads his own... makes life easier, but requires a good bit of equipment.  It is an option though.  All you need is the casings, lead, etc.  lol.

I am a Range Officer for the Mother Lode Gun Club up here in Sonora. we have an indoor range as well as several outdoor ranges and an archery range. We allow holster draw as well as rapid fire. I would be more than happy to host a group who want to get together. My friend also owns the company called "Weapons training school" he teaches self defense and tactical firearms. I am sure I could convince him as well to do something if we could get enough together.

So what are we up to about six cafe members and their significant others? Probably enough for a group, but a few more would be nice. Maybe we should see who else in our dojos are interested. Then we can work on organizing the first shoot. Date, time, location, maybe even a rotation schedule. I think there were at least four possilble locations mentioned.

There's a shooting club in Napa? Man, I wish my dad and I knew about that when we were living there. (although since I live in Fairfield now, it's not like we're too far from Napa).

I'd probably be interested-- it'd be nice to learn to shoot something other than a BB gun.

Boy that Texas place does look good......California and the rules here are strange.   I do like the outside and different venues there.  The 2 indoor ranges here don't really accommodate groups.......  a little clay shooting wouldn't be to bad besides the hang guns.  I figure for defense really a handgun and shotgun are what's useful.  I think if the person is far enough for a 30-06 you can probably leave ;D

The DFW gun club is a good range.. Hock used to teach seminars there and we used to visit it a couple of times a year.

Steve,
Grab Lou and come on down to my place. One of my BB's has some land out in the sticks abit and we do lot's of shooting. For the guys with gun experience & some saavy we do some fun drilling and just have a good time, but if you are new to firearms we will cover it from the ground up.

Tell me when you wanna come this way and we will hit the mat and then go lay down some lead.

That Sounds good Brother Dean, there's an indoor range here in abilene but handgun only, and there really isnt a rifle range to speak of unless you got buddies with land... I'd love to come down there and shoot with you guys, thanks for the invite.
