Very sad to hear it and my sympathies to the family.  I feel he has went on to get some rest.

I am very grateful for the instrumental role he played in making Kajukenbo what it is.  The things that attracted me to Kajukenbo were the emphasis on street effectiveness while still maintaining a strong link to the past through forms and courtesies.  It makes for more than just someone who can defend themselves, but a warrior scholar, one who improves their fellowman.

God bless Sijo.  Enjoy your reunions.

He now moves from Living Legend to Timeless Legend.
I hope Kajukenbo is strong enough to withstand his passing. The Ohana is best as one.

From Emil and myself and Xie Xie too, we all love Sijo and know that he's now hanging out with all the guys talking stories and discussing Kajukenbo.  He's happy now and at peace. Let this feeling of family and togetherness last a long, long while. And may GM DeChi, his daughter Veronica and the entire Emperado family know of our love and support now and always.

Condolences to the Emperado family and to the Kajukenbo family also. Sad to hear the news but he has brought something to countless people that has helped in many ways and he will be remembered. He is in a greater place now and would be happy to see his art continue forward. Rest in peace, Sijo.

From all of us at Canyon Kajukenbo we mourn the loss of the man that literally had an impact on our lives.I know I would not be whom I am today if this man and his comrades had not taken the time ,effort ,blood and spirt to create the system we all love.Rest in peace Sijo , you will not be forgotten.

Sijo Adriano D. Emperado is at Ballard mortuary in Maui

http://maui.citysearch.com/review/3196884

this man was many things to many people.
to me he was a very close friend.
I have many more things to say but they are mostly personal.
so to you Sijo I say, I will keep the flame alive, I will always remember my roots and give you credit for all that I do in Kajukenbo.
as I hope the rest of you will do also.
