I wrote this the day I found out Sijo passed away, I thought I would share it with the Kaju Ohana. Better late than never!
I woke up this morning and found out that our beloved Sijo has passed away. He has had a great impact on my life as well as everyone in the Kajukenbo Ohana. This man has created a system and a way of life that many follow because it is a pure and healthy life for those who choose to live the life as a Kajukenboist! His ideas along with the other founding fathers of the system have set a foundation of blending thoughts, styles and cultures for a better understanding and hybrid way of life. These ideals have led me to be opened minded and versatile in the world we live in. Sijo Adriano Emperado will be greatly missed but his teaching will never be forgotten. I would not be the person I am today if it was not for his teachings from the Palama Settlement that have been passed down from generation to generation. May God bless Sijo, his family and the Kajukenbo Ohana. His teachings of the martial arts will live on eternally.
