Professor Manuel Arcos IIII was around 4 or 5 years old when my father Grandmaster Manuel T. Arcos introduced me to Kajukenbo. I remember Dad making me do the same technique over and over again, even after class, on the weekends, and before I went to bed. I had to do the same forms and techniques until he felt that every one was perfect. One of the benefits of Dad being in the Air Force was that I was able to meet martial artists from all over the world. When I was about 13 years old Dad made me take Shotokan Karate for about a year and a half so I could see the difference between Kajukenbo and other martial arts. I have participated in hundreds of tournaments, both in sparring and forms. In 1998, 1999 I won the Texas State Championship in Sparring under UMA Federation. I am an active member of the K.S.D.I. Black Belt Society. In 2003 I was promoted to Sigung (7th) by Sijo-Emperado in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 2007 I was promoted Professor (8th) by Grandmaster Manuel T. Arcos.
I am currently teaching out of my home in my 66x28 dojo. I teach Kajukenbo Arcos Method under the Universal Kajukenbo Association. I also teach women’s self defense, kids self defense, law enforcement personnel, security personnel, private classes, and Dirty Jiu-Jitsu.
I have a big Kajukenbo family, I teach my wife, my two daughters, and there husbands. I have two brothers, two sisters, one nephew, 13 cousins and my youngest student is my four year old daughter. A family that practices Kajukenbo together stays together.
