Professor Manuel Arcos III

I was around 4 or 5 years old when my father Grandmaster Manuel T. Arcos introduced me to Kajukenbo.  I remember Dad making me do the same technique over and over again, even after class, on the weekends, and before I went to bed.  I had to do the same forms and techniques until he felt that every one was perfect.  One of the benefits of Dad being in the Air Force was that I  was able to meet martial artists from all over the world.  When I was about 13 years old Dad made me take Shotokan Karate for about a year and a half so I could see the difference between Kajukenbo and other martial arts.  I have participated in hundreds of tournaments, both in sparring and forms.  In 1998, 1999 I won the Texas State Championship in Sparring under UMA Federation.  I am an active member of the K.S.D.I. Black Belt Society.  In 2003 I was promoted to Sigung (7th) by Sijo-Emperado in Las Vegas, Nevada.  In 2007 I was promoted Professor (8th) by Grandmaster Manuel T. Arcos.

I am currently teaching out of my  home in my 66x28 dojo.  I teach Kajukenbo Arcos Method under the Universal Kajukenbo Association.  I also teach women’s self defense, kids self defense, law enforcement personnel, security personnel, private classes, and Dirty Jiu-Jitsu.

I have a big Kajukenbo family, I teach my wife, my two daughters, and there husbands.  I have two brothers, two sisters, one nephew, 13 cousins and my youngest student is my four year old daughter.  A family that practices Kajukenbo together stays together.

Long Live Kajukenbo

For the past year and a half, I have had the honor and privilege of being a student and son-in-law of Professor Arcos. He has spent a lot of time and effort teaching me a lifetimes worth of knowledge in self defense, competitive combat, and advanced techniques. But more importantly, he has given me the confidence in myself to know that I have the ability to protect myself and loved ones around me know matter what the danger is. What he teaches is real self defense that can be used by anyone of any age. Everything I have learned can be applied in the streets or in the cage. No matter what situation people throw at him, he can give you a strike, counter, or combo that will nullify any attack. He has given me a lot of one-on-one personal instruction that has pushed me to be a fighter beyond what I expected of myself and for that I am truly grateful. To be able to train under Grandmaster and Professor Arcos is a once in a life time opportunity.

Hello.  I'm looking for a Kajukenbo school in the San Antonio area for one of our students that will be moving this summer.  Does anyone have contact information for Prof. Arcos?

As of August 2015 Professor Manuel Arcos III has been promoted to Grandmaster. I have enjoyed training with Grandmaster. I have learned a lot from him and I'm looking forward to learning a lot more. If anybody is looking for a kajukenbo home in San Antonio, you will not regret training with Grandmaster Arcos III.
