Contact your instructor. Sigung Kailani called me the other night and said they were working on a DVD of the Maui service.

Aloha,

We do have a DVD from Maui Sevice, But it is only of the Hawaiian Protocol we did for Sijo.
But only chosen people will be able to get it from us, There was nothing that was video taped
of Sijo's inside service part in Maui, due to respect for Sijo, he didn't want it to be on video,
because he did'nt want anyone to sell it, to make money. Our Kajukenbo Ohana did what Sijo wanted
to do the Haka, Oli and Ha'a( Hawaiian protocol )when our  King or as we say Ali'i
pass away.  It was so touching and the music was jus perfect for this special DVD.
I heard the Oahu Kajukenbo was selling it, I beleive they also video taped the inside service there.
I heard it was Clarence Luna or Sonnie selling it.
Ruben, I already send out yours and Prof. John Bishop DVD yesterday or maybe the day before.
I hope you folk's enjoy it, let me know how much chicken skin you feel.  because I felt the Mana!!
I jus wanted to clear that up about our Maui Memorial Video it is not for sale, but Oahu is for sale
I heard from someone from Oahu.

With Much Aloha,
SiGung Kailani

'thats good. it shouldn't be sold out of respect for the founder and creator of Kajukenbo. I don't think Sijo would have wanted that at all

My understanding of the fund raising by GM Clarence Luna and Sonnie Emperado is to pay the funeral expenses for the service on Oahu, and secondary for a permanent monument to Sijo.
The Palama Settlement has realized that people from all over the world visit the Settlement because it's Kajukenbo's birthplace.  They have offered space for a permanent monument to Sijo, if someone else will cover the costs of the monument itself.

Aloha,

Not to make any Pilikea, but the truth is me & my brother SiGung Aiau paid for Sijo's service in Oahu
I know that for a fact because I sign the paper work to be responsible we in Maui paid for it, or Sijo,
would not have a service in Oahu.
All of our Kajukenbo Ohana that  send us donation for Sijo was paid for it costed us 16 thousand dollars.
and that is the truth.  I don't want people to think that we did not pay for it.
Sijo has passed and free of dept by the Grace of God.

I'm very glad to hear this.  My first conversation with GM Clarence was before the services, when the fund raising was just starting to take place.  So I'm very glad to hear that all the funeral expenses were covered by the donations of our ohana and the hard work and donations from Sigung Kailani and Sigung Aiau.

In my most recent conversation with GM Clarence he talked about the permanent memorial to Sijo at the Palama Settlement.  So it appears that their recent fund raising efforts are going towards the Palama Settlement monument project.
