Punching Attack Self Defense Technique # 17 (a)

Attack:

Attacker executes a right cross punch to the Defender's face from an "Orthodox Boxing Stance".

Defense:

01. Defender steps off to the10:00 direction with the Defender's left foot into a "Left Forward Stance" while executing first a "Left Inside Palm Brush Block Parry Strike" to the outside of the Attacker's right punching arm targeting the upper forearm then as the stance shift is accomplished a "Right L Shaped Outward Block Strike targeting just behind the Attacker's right elbow.  This will drive the arm across the Attacker's centerline and up slightly off balancing the Attacker.

02. Defender executes a "Right Front Snap Kick" to the Attacker's groin.

03. Defender without stepping down with the right kicking leg, withdraws the right kick while pulling down the Attacker's right punching arm then around clockwise across the Defender's body to the Defender's left side to the Defender's left hand. The Defender grasps the Attacker's right wrist with the Defender's left hand so that the palm of the Defender's left hand is on the back of the Attacker's right wrist.  The Defender twists the Attacker's right wrist away and raises the Attacker's arm so that the Attacker's right triceps muscle is facing up and the Attacker's ribs on the Attacker's right side are exposed.  Defender crescent steps with the right kicking leg into a low "Riding Horse Stance" so that the Defender's right leg is in between the Attacker's legs and next to the Attacker's front left leg.  As the Defender steps down into the low "Riding Horse Stance" the Defender pulls the Attacker's right arm by the right wrist toward the 8:00 direction and executes a right bottom fist strike to the ribs on the right side of the Attacker.  This strike involves the outside blade edge of the Defender's right forearm striking the center of the ribs on the Attacker's right side and the right bottom fist striking toward the back of the Attacker.  The area would be on the same line as the solar plexus.  The strike hits then the Defender's arm is pulled toward the Defender's right and to 3:00 turning the Attacker's body toward that direction.

04. Defender continues the pull of the Attacker's right arm down in a figure eight type pattern while the Defender shifts the stance to a "Right Forward Stance" lowering the Defender's body on the same level as the Attacker's solar plexus.  The Defender shuffles forward slightly toward 12:30 then raises the Defender's body up while rotating the Defender's right shoulder down then up and back in a clockwise motion. If done correctly the down motion of the Defender's right shoulder will get under the Attacker's chin and strike the upper chest in such a manner as to make the Attacker's chin thrust forward.  The upward rise of the body and right shoulder of the Defender will clip under the Attacker's chin, snapping back the head and clearing away a path for the next strike.

05. Defender executes a right chop to the right side of the Attacker's neck (Stomach Nine) as the "jerk" down motion is accomplished on the Attacker's right arm with the Defender's left hand.

06. Defender then grabs at the right side of the neck and upper shoulder of the Attacker digging in the knuckles of the Defender's right fist into the nerves in that area while pulling the Attacker towards the Defender and raising the Attacker's right arm back and up behind the Attacker.  The Attacker should be bent over at the waist toward 6:00.

07. Defender then lets go of the Attacker's right wrist with the Defender's left hand and executes a left downward palm heel strike to just below the Attacker's left shoulder blade and toward the spine and a half beat later a right knee lift to the solar plexus.  The Defender is targeting the Attacker's heart.  The human body is a big bag of water and the strike to the back will send a shock wave toward the heart.  The knee lift strike hopefully will be timed so that both shock waves meet where the heart is, affecting that organ. As the two strikes are accomplished the Defender has already let go of the Attacker's upper right shoulder and has the right arm held up high in preparation for the next movement.

08. Defender stomps down into a "Right Forward Stance" facing toward 1:30 while simultaneously executing a right downward chop strike using the little finger side of the right wrist bone and upper forearm to strike at the Attacker's upper shoulder and crease at the side of the neck near the hollow of the collar bone.  The angle of the strike and the 45 degree angle of the bent over body of the Attacker will send the Attacker down and back sprawling.

09. Defender then steps back into a guarded stance while looking around in all directions for other potential Attackers.

Punching Attack Self Defense Technique # 17 (b)

Attack:

Attacker executes a right cross punch to the Defender's face from an "Orthodox Boxing Stance" followed by a left hook to the Defender's right side of the jaw .

Defense:

02. Defender swings the Attacker's right punching arm with the Defender's right block striking around in a clockwise motion toward the 8:30 direction off balancing the Attacker.

03. The Attacker throws a left hook punch and the Defender response with a "Right Extended Outward Block Strike" to the Attacker's left punching arm.  The Defender turns the outward extended block strike into a right grab sliding down the arm to the Attacker's lower left forearm.

04. Defender steps with the left foot toward the 2:00 direction while simultaneously executing a left palm heel strike to the upper chest of the Attacker then the Defender's left hand slides up the Attacker's chest to grab the Attacker's throat. The Defender slides back with the Defender's left leg to throw the Attacker down on the Attacker's back.

05. As the Attacker falls down on the Attacker's back, the Defender releases the grasp on the Attacker's throat with the Defender's left hand and slides the left hand down to the back of the Attacker's left elbow and pulls up, hyper extending the Attacker's left arm and rolling over the Attacker onto the Attacker's right side pinning the Attacker's right arm. The Defender at this point lands with the Defender's left knee on to the Attacker's mid ribs on the Attacker's left side.

06. Defender executes a left back fist strike to the back of the Attacker's head and upper neck on the Attacker's left side.

07. Defender lets go of the Attacker and steps back toward 4:30 into a guarded stance while looking around in all directions for other potential attackers.

Punching Attack Self Defense Technique # 18 (a)

Attack:

Attacker execute a right cross punch to the Defender's face from an "Orthodox Boxing Stance".

Defense:

01. Defender steps back with the left foot toward the 6:00 direction into a "Right Cat Stance" facing to 12:00 with the Defender's right hand held up high in a peacock or crane block striking position and the left palm of the Defender held down and out from the lower abdomen of the Defender.  This posture leaves a hole facing the Attacker.  It is to bait the Attacker into striking toward the center of the face of the Defender.

02. As the Attacker's right cross punch comes into range, the Defender executes a right down slap block strike to the Attacker's right forearm.

03. Defender executes a left palm down strike that slap presses down and out toward the 8:30 direction as the Defender simultaneously execute a right snap kick to the Attacker's groin.  The combination of strikes will make the Attacker bend over and drop the left hand.

04. Defender lands into a right cat stance facing to 12:00 and executes a right palm facing up eye flick/poke to the Attacker's right eye and nose.  The effect is to make the Attacker turn the Attacker's head toward 10:00.  The Attacker's lower body is twisted slightly toward 3:00 and bent over.  This will make the Attacker unable to advance toward the Defender without straightening the body posture first.

05. Defender steps back with the right foot toward the 4:30 direction into a guarded stance while looking around in all directions for other potential attackers.

Attack:

Attacker execute a right cross punch to the Defender's face from an "Orthodox Boxing Stance".

Defense:

01. Defender steps off to the side with the left foot toward the 10:00 direction into a "Left Forward Stance" facing to 11:30 while simultaneously executing a "Right Upward Block Strike" to the Attacker's right punching arm targeting at just above the elbow(Heart Three and Two).  The Defender should lower the body as this move is initiated ducking the Attacker's punch.  The Defender's upward block strike is continued as the Defender stands up straight.  The motion of the upward block strike is to front, up, and back in a circular pattern.

02. Defender executes a "Left Upward Block Strike" to the exact target as the right upward block strike and a right upper cut punch to the Attacker's solar plexus simultaneously. This motion is like doing a back stroke in swimming.

03. Defender slides step forward with the Defender's left foot toward 10:00 ducking under the Attacker's right punching arm.

04. Defender executes a right knee lift to the Attacker's solar plexus.

05. Defender steps back with the right leg toward the 8:00 direction into a guarded stance while looking around in all directions for other potential attackers.

Punching Attack Self Defense Technique # 21 (a)

Attack:

Attacker executes a right cross punch targeting the left side of the Defender's jaw and face from an "Orthodox Boxing Stance".

Defense:

01. Defender steps to the 10:00 direction with the left foot shifting the stance into a "Left Forward Stance" facing to the 12:00 while executing first a "Left Inward Open Hand Palm Parry Block Strike" to the Attacker's right punching arm at just in front of the elbow, secondly a "Right High Outward L Shaped Block Strike" to just behind the Attacker's elbow on the triceps muscle.

02. Defender shift the stance to a "Right Forward Stance" facing to the 2:30 direction while simultaneously executing a "Left Palm Heel Strike" to the back of the Attacker's right cross punching arm.

03. Defender maintains this left stiff arm while stepping forward with the left foot toward the 11:00 mark into a "Low Left Kneeling Stance"

04. As the stance shift is accomplished the Defender executes a "Right Hook Punch" to the Attacker's ribs on the Attacker's right side (Liver).

05. Defender steps with the right foot around in front of the Defender's left foot pointing toward the 8:30 direction. This is a Ba Qua Chang "L" step.  It is called "L" step in English because when you look down at your own feet the configuration looks like an upside down letter "L".  Make sure that you move the right hip first before the foot.  The right hip turn moves the foot. The upper body still should be facing to 2:00.

06. Defender weights the Defender's right foot then executes a left straight legged heel hook kick targeting the Attacker's head.  (Use due caution and care)

07. Defender steps back with the left foot toward 11:00 into a guarded stance while looking around in all directions.

Punching Attack Self Defense Technique # 19 (b)

Attack:

Attacker execute a right cross punch to the Defender's face from an "Orthodox Boxing Stance", followed by a left hook punch to the Defender's jaw on the Defender's right side.

Defense:

02. As the Attacker executes the left hook punch, the Defender shifts the stance from a "Left Forward Stance" facing to 12:00 to a "Right Flexible T Stance" facing to 2:00 while lowering the body and leaning back at the waist toward 8:00 and simultaneously executing a "Right Upward Block Strike" to the Attacker's left hooking punching arm (just up the arm behind the elbow). As the Defender executes the right upward block strike, the Defender rises up and forward shifting the stance back to a "Left Forward Stance" by weighting the Defender's right foot then stepping forward toward 10:30 with the left foot. As the stance shift is being accomplished the Defender executes a right hook punch to the Attacker's left floating rib.

03. Defender steps forward and around in a counter clockwise turn toward the 9:00 direction shifting the stance to a "Riding Horse Stance" facing to 6:00 (this is a wide Ba Qua Chang "T" step) Defender uses the power of the spin to execute a "Left Back Fist Strike" then turning the fist so the fist palm is facing down into a "Left Bottom Fist Strike" targeting the Attacker's lower sternum the rolling to the solar plexus.

04. Defender sweeps steps back with the left foot toward 10:30 into a "Left Forward Stance" facing to 12:00 and executes a "Right Inverted Punch" (right thumb pointing down) to the Attacker's left upper chest, targeting two points just below the Attacker's collar bone and on the upper pectoral major muscle.

05. Defender steps with the right foot (Ba Qua Chang "L" step) behind the Attacker's right foot so that the toes of the Defender's right foot point to 3:00 while placing the Defender's left hand under the Attacker's jaw on the Attacker's right side and chin. Defender is using the back of the Defender's left hand. Defender puts the Defender's left elbow down with the fingers of the Defender's left hand pointing up. This motion will tip the Attacker's head back and toward 11:00. The Defender is using the Attacker's upper right shoulder as a fulcrum to tip the Attacker's head back.

06. Defender crescent steps with the Defender's left foot toward the 1:00 direction into a "Riding Horse Stance" facing to 4:00 while continuing to tip the Attacker's head back.  The Defender has "crowded" the Defender's left side of the Defender's body in between the Attacker's right arm and right side.

07. As the Attacker falls back toward the 12:30 direction, the Defender cross steps with the right leg in front of the left leg toward 1:00 then crescent steps with the left foot toward 1:30 into a "Riding Horse Stance facing to 4:30 while wrapping over and around the Attacker's right arm with the Defender's left arm into a right arm bar. Just as the Attacker falls, the Defender grabs the back of the Defender's left fist with the Defender's right hand and lifts up and back at a upward 45 degree angle, breaking the Attacker's right arm and rolling the Attacker onto the Attacker's left side pinning the Attacker's left arm.

08. Defender drops onto the Attacker with the Defender's left shin and knee onto the Attacker's neck and the Defender's right shin and knee onto the Attacker's lower ribs on the Attacker's right side.

09. Defender releases the grasp on the back of the Defender's left fist with the Defender's right hand and executes a right downward "Key Punch" using the Defender's right middle finger knuckle to the Attacker's right arm pit.10. Defender stands up, releases the hold on the Attacker's right arm with the Defender's left arm. Defender steps back with the Defender's left foot toward the 8:00 direction into a guarded stance while looking around in all directions for other potential attackers.

Punching Attack Self Defense Technique # 20 (a)

Attack:

Attacker executes a right cross punch to the Defender's face from an "Orthodox Boxing Stance".

Defense:

01. Defender steps back with the right foot toward the 5:00 direction into a "Left Sprinter Stance" facing to 12:00 while executing first a "Right Inward Open Hand Brush Block Strike" to the inside of the Attacker's right punching arm targeting around the Attacker's right wrist, then a "Left Extended Outward Chop Block Strike" to the inside of the Attacker's right punching arm targeting near the right elbow on the right forearm side.

02. Defender leap shuffles forward step with the left foot toward 12:30 between the Attacker's legs while simultaneously pushing the Attacker's right punching arm away and down at a down 45 degree angle toward the 9:00 direction. About a half a beat later, the defender executes a right upper cut hook type punch to the Attacker's solar plexus (right fist palm facing up).

03. Defender shifts the stance to a "Right Forward Stance" facing to 4:00 while simultaneously executing a "Left Forearm Ridge Hand Strike" to the back of the Attacker's neck. (Left palm facing down) The striking surface is the inside of the Defender's forearm (Thumb Side).

04. Defender left crescent steps in front of the Attacker toward the 3:00 direction facing to 6:00 while simultaneously wrapping the Defender's left arm around the Attacker's neck and executing a right punch to the Attacker's sternum. Defender then grabs the Defender's right punching fist and wrist with the Defender's left hand placing the Attacker into a head lock. The left crescent step should be wide enough so that the Defender's spine lines up with the Attacker's left side.

05. Defender bends over at the waist toward 9:00 and simultaneously twists the Defender's upper body toward 12:00 and executes a right palm slap to the Attacker's groin initiating a "Head Lock Throw" so that the Attacker lands with the Attacker's head at 11:00 and the Attacker's feet at 5:00. The Defender is in a position of being bent over at the waist toward 9:00 with the Defender's right arm pointing straight up.

06. As the Attacker lands on the Attacker's back, the Defender leaps into the air toward the Attacker (from the top turn buckle) and executes a "Left Knee Drop" onto the Attacker's ribs on the Attacker's left (Heart) side and solar plexus.

07. Defender stands up and steps back with the right foot toward 2:00 into a guarded stance while looking around in all directions for other potential attackers.

Punching Attack Self Defense Technique # 20 (b)

Attack:

Attacker executes a right cross punch to the Defender's face from an "Orthodox Boxing Stance" followed by a left hook targeting the Defender's jaw on the Defender's right side. .

Defense:

A half beat later, the Defender executes a right upper cut hook type punch to the Attacker's solar plexus (right fist palm facing up).

03. Defender shifts the stance to a "Right Flexible T Stance" facing to 3:30 while simultaneously executing a "Left Inward Downward Outward Forearm Block Strike" to the Attacker's left hook punching arm.  This strike is targeted for the radial nerve in a downward striking motion then the Defender executes an inward motion so that the hook punch goes wide toward 6:00 missing the Defender and throwing the Attacker off balance toward 6:00.

04. Defender shifts the stance by stepping forward slightly toward 3:30 with the Defender's right foot into a "Right Forward Stance" facing to 3:00 while simultaneously pushing the Attacker's left hook punching arm toward 2:00 with the Defender's left block striking arm.

05. Defender shifts the stance to a "Left Forward Stance" facing to 10:00 by pivoting around counter clockwise. Defender then steps around in a counter clockwise direction with the Defender's right foot (Ba Qua Chang wide "T" step) toward the 9:00 direction into a "Riding Horse Stance" facing to 6:00 while executing the following: (a) a right palm down forearm strike to the back of the Attacker's neck (b) a left inverted punch to the Attacker's sternum (c) right headlock applied after the right forearm strike and left inverted strike.

06. Defender jams the Defender's hips into the Attacker's groin and right leg. Defender bends over towards 4:00 and lets go of the headlock hold on the Attacker's head and neck and executes a left slap through strike to the Attacker's groin adding to the effectiveness of the headlock throw. As the Attacker is thrown the Defender tries to acquire a right wrist grab by sliding down the inside of the Attacker's right arm to seize the Attacker's right wrist with the Defender's left hand.

07. Defender, as the Attacker lands on the Attacker's back with the Attacker's head pointing to 4:30 and the Attacker's feet pointing to 10:30, leaps in the air toward the Attacker (from the top turn buckle) and executes a "Right Knee Drop" onto the Attacker's right ribs (Liver side) and upper left chest.

08. Defender gets up, lets go of the Attacker and steps back with the Defender's right leg toward the 12:00 direction into a guarded stance while looking around in all directions for other potential attackers.

Punching Attack Self Defense Technique # 21 (b)

Attack:

Attacker executes a right cross punch targeting the left side of the Defender's jaw and face from an "Orthodox Boxing Stance" followed by a left hook punch, targeting the Defender's jaw on the Defender's right side.

Defense:

Defender executes a right front snap kick to the Attacker's groin.

02. Defender steps down with the right kicking leg, shifting the stance into a "Right High Kneeling Stance" facing to the 2:30 direction while simultaneously executing a "Left Palm Heel Strike" to the back of the Attacker's right cross punching arm.

05. Attacker throws the left hook to the right side of the Defender's jaw.  Defender shifts the stance to a "Right Forward Stance" facing to 3:00 while simultaneously executing a left palm heel strike targeting the Attacker's left hook punching arm near the inside of the Attacker's left elbow.
