Grabbing Art Self Defense Technique # 17 (Defense Against Two Attackers)

Attack:

Defender is standing in a natural stance facing to Attacker # 1 and toward the 12:00 direction.  Attacker # 2 comes from behind the Defender or from 6:00 and proceeds to grab the Defender in a "Bear Hug" hold, trapping both of the Defender's arms. Attacker # 1 steps forward with Attacker # 1's left foot toward the Defender and to the 6:00 direction into an "Orthodox Boxing Stance" and executes a "Right Cross Punch" to the Defender's face.

Defense:

01. Defender separates the shoulder blades, fans out each elbow to the sides with the Defender's left elbow pointing to the 9:00 direction and the Defender's right elbow pointing to 3:00.  The Defender has taken in a deep breath and has slapped Attacker # 2's arms next to Attacker # 2's hands as Attacker # 2 has begun to put the "Bear Hug" hold on the Defender. Defender steps out slightly to the right side toward 3:00 with the Defender's right foot, while still hanging on to Attacker # 2's arms. Defender executes a quick right forward shoulder shrug (This shoulder hit uses the front part of the shoulder like the Defender would use a punch or elbow strike. This shoulder shrug strike targets Attacker # 2's right biceps and inside the hollow of the inside of the arm and elbow.  In this case it is used to off balance Attacker # 2 toward 2:30)

02. Defender steps forward with the Defender's left foot toward 10:00 into a "Left Forward Stance" facing to 12:00 while simultaneously issuing a Ki-Ai, executing a "Left Upward Block Strike" to Attacker # 1's right cross punching arm and executing a "Right Rear Point Of The Elbow Strike" to Attacker # 2's solar plexus.

03. Defender from the "Left Forward Stance" facing to 12:00 executes a "Bear Claw Strike" to Attacker # 2's groin. (This hand strike, first strikes with the heel of the Defender's right palm targeting the pubic bone, then the fingers that are relaxed whips into Attacker # 2's genitals). As this movement is being accomplished, the Defender is simultaneously wrapping the Defender's left upward blocking arm up, over and around Attacker # 1's right punching arm to be placed just behind Attacker # 1's right elbow pinning and hyper extending Attacker # 1's right elbow. The Defender's left fist is now on the Defender's upper right pectoral major muscle so that the hyper extension is at 45 degree angle up toward 3:30.

04. Defender executes a "Right Back Fist Strike" to Attacker # 2's right side of the face, targeting Attacker # 2's right temple. The Defender is suddenly twisting the Defender's upper body clockwise toward 6:00 as the back fist strike is accomplished which not only adds power to the Defender's right back fist strike but also increases the snap jerk motion on Attacker # 1's right elbow joint, forcing Attacker # 1 to step forward slightly with the right foot toward the 6:00 direction, then a wide left step around toward 4:00 in an attempt to release the pressure on Attacker # 1's right elbow and arm. Attacker # 1 will extend Attacker # 1's left arm out toward 3:00 in a reaction to the right elbow hyper extension, taking Attacker # 1's left arm out of play.

05. Defender executes a "Right Hook Punch" to Attacker # 1's solar plexus and lower ribs on Attacker # 1's right side just below the solar plexus line. The target for the "Right Hook Punch" is Attacker # 1's heart.

06. Defender releases the wrap on Attacker # 1's right arm and in a hooking clockwise motion, executes a left forearm strike (thumb side) to the back of Attacker # 1's neck near the base of Attacker # 1's skull, while simultaneously executing a right cork screw punch strike (thumb facing down) to Attacker # 1's sternum. Defender is in the process of stepping with the Defender's left foot toward 3:00, shifting the stance to a "Riding Horse Stance" facing to 6:00 with the Defender's back in front of Attacker # 1's body. As this stance transition is accomplished the Defender applies a left headlock on Attacker # 1's head and neck. This is a neck wrench choke technique. The Defender's left forearm should be under Attacker # 1's jaw all the way around to Attacker # 1's right ear. The Defender's right hand is pushing against the Defender's left fist and forearm increasing the pressure on the choke and neck wrench.  The Defender's left elbow is pointing down and is pinned against the Defender's ribs on the Defender's left side. The Defender twists the Defender's upper body toward 9:00 suddenly to initiate the left headlock throw. Please use due caution and care as this movement is potentially lethal.

07. Defender bends forward at the waist toward 9:00. Defender twists the Defender's upper body and head toward 12:00 while simultaneously slapping through Attacker # 1's groin with the Defender's right hand and arm. If there were no attacker the Defender would be bent over at the waist toward 9:00 with the Defender's right arm pointing straight up with palm of the Defender's right hand facing to 6:00. This motion will throw Attacker # 1 over the lower back and hips of the Defender so that Attacker # 1's feet are at the 6:00 direction and Attacker # 1's head at 12:00. The Defender retains the hold on Attacker # 1's neck until Attacker # 1 lands on the ground, landing on Attacker # 1's tail bone and lower spine.  Defender then pushes on Attacker # 1's back of the neck with the Defender's left hand toward 4:00 while cross stepping with the Defender's right foot and leg in front of the Defender's left leg, stepping toward 6:00.

08. Defender, behind the Defender's back, switches the contact on the back of Attacker # 1's neck and head from the left hand to the right hand while executing a "Left Front Side Thrust Kick" to Attacker # 2's solar plexus.

09. Defender cross steps with the left kicking leg toward 9:00 while dropping the push on Attacker # 1's head and into a guarded stance while looking around in all directions for other potential attackers.

In reality the Defender would use the  butt technique (Jailhouse Rock) in conjunction with the shoulder stroke. However, due to possible injury to the "Uke" the head butting is not taught ******

03. Defender executes a "Right Front Thrust Punch" to Attacker # 1's solar plexus while simultaneously knocking down Attacker # 1's right punching arm with the Defender's left upward block striking arm.

04. Defender grabs first with the Defender's right punching hand, the upper lapels or clothing of Attacker # 1 in the center of the upper chest, then grabs with the Defender's left hand, Attacker # 1's right upper trapezes muscle near Attacker # 1's neck.

05. Defender executes a "Right Rear Thrust Kick" to Attacker # 2's solar plexus.

06. Defender executes a "Right Front Shin Kick" to Attacker # 1's groin.

07. Defender steps back with the Defender's right kicking leg towards the 7:30 direction into a "Right Forward Stance" facing to 6:00 while throwing Attacker # 1 into Attacker # 2.

This shoulder shrug strike targets Attacker # 2's right biceps and inside the hollow of the inside of the arm and elbow.  In this case it is used to off balance Attacker # 2 toward 2:30) **** This is like human pin ball. In reality the Defender would use the butt technique (Jailhouse Rock) in conjunction with the shoulder stroke. However, due to possible injury to the "Uke" the head butting is not taught ******

02. Defender steps forward with the Defender's left foot toward 10:00 into a "Left Forward Stance" facing to 12:00 while simultaneously issuing a Ki-Ai, and executing a "Left Upward Block Strike" to Attacker # 1's right cross punching arm and executing a "Right Rear Point Of The Elbow Strike" to Attacker # 2's solar plexus simultaneously.

03. Defender wraps the left upward block striking arm around and over Attacker # 1's right cross punching arm into an elbow arm lock while simultaneously executing a "Right Back Fist Strike" to Attacker # 2's right temple. Defender's right elbow is pointing down on this type of back fist.  The Defender's waist twists clockwise toward 6:00 as the right back fist and the right arm lock elbow hyper extension is applied adding tork and power to each strike. The stance almost shifts to a "Right Forward Stance" facing to 4:00. This stance has been called a "Broken Horse Stance" however the stance is a right forward stance with the left back leg bent. The hyper extension Attacker # 1's right elbow is at a 45 degree up angle toward the 4:30 direction and will force Attacker # 1 to step forward with Attacker # 1's left front foot toward 4:00 and lean back toward 10:00 in order to relieve the pressure on the right elbow.

04. Defender steps back with the left back leg toward 10:00 then turns to the left counter clockwise toward 12:00 shifting the stance into a "Left Forward Stance" facing 12:00 while simultaneously executing a "Right Uppercut Punch" to Attacker # 1's solar plexus.

05. Defender steps back with the right foot toward the 7:30 direction, turns clockwise toward 6:00, shifting into a "Right Forward Stance" facing to 6:00 while simultaneously executing a right, palm facing down, chop strike to Attacker # 2's throat and hyper extending Attacker # 1's right arm with a 45 degree angle up toward 6:00.

06. Defender steps back with the left leg toward 10:00, turns counter clockwise toward 11:00 while pulling Attacker # 1 by the right arm and elbow toward 8:00 and shifting into a "Left Forward Stance" facing 11:00, then starts stepping forward with the Defender's right foot toward 11:00 and simultaneously executes a "Right Downward Forearm and Chop Strike" to Attacker # 1's neck and collar bone on Attacker # 1's left side.  The angle for this strike is down at a 45 degree angle toward 9:00.  This is not a snap chop strike but more like a sword cut that follows through.

07. Defender steps back with the Defender's right leg between Attacker # 1's legs toward the 3:00 direction into a "Left Forward Stance" facing to 9:00,  sweeping Attacker # 1's leg or legs out from underneath Attacker # 1. The following movements are accomplished as Attacker # 1 is falling; (a) Defender grabs the Defender's left wrist with the Defender's right hand with the palm of the Defender's right hand facing down and the right thumb pointing toward 6:00. (b) Defender begins to apply pressure with the Defender's left forearm, left thumb side, on Attacker # 1's elbow just above Attacker # 1's right elbow on the triceps side of the arm. The pressure is up and toward the Defender at a 45 degree angle. (c) Defender steps back with the Defender's left foot toward the 2:30 direction while dragging and pulling the Attacker # 1 by the right arm toward the 2:00 direction. (d) Defender then shifts the stance from a "Right Forward Stance" facing to 9:00 to a "Riding Horse Stance" facing to 8:00, dragging Attacker # 1 along by the right arm so that Attacker lies on Attacker # 1's left side pinning Attacker # 1's left arm under Attacker # 1's body. Attacker # 1 has Attacker # 1's head at the 5:00 direction and feet at the 11:00 direction.

08. Defender executes the following movements from the "Riding Horse Stance" facing to the 8:00 direction; (a) Defender leans back at the waist toward the 2:00 direction and with a quick upward motion with both of the Defender's arms toward the Defender breaks Attacker # 1's right arm at the elbow. (b) Defender drops down onto Attacker # 1 with the Defender's left shin and knee on Attacker # 1's neck and the Defender's right shin and knee on Attacker # 1's lower ribs on Attacker # 1's right side.

09. Defender releases the grasp on the Defender's left hand with the Defender's right hand and while maintaining the arm lock on Attacker # 1's right arm, executes a "Right Downward Middle Knuckle Key Punch" to Attacker # 1's right arm pit.

10. Defender slides the Defender's right hand under the Defender's left arm the proceeds to grasp Attacker # 1's right wrist with the Defender's right hand.

11. Defender stands up releasing the right arm lock on Attacker # 1's right arm with the Defender's left arm, proceeds to step with the Defender's right leg behind the Defender's left leg then executes a "Left Side Thrust Kick" to Attacker # 2's solar plexus.

12. Defender lets go of Attacker # 1's right arm, steps back toward 3:00 with the Defender's left leg into a guarded stance while looking around in all directions for other potential attackers.

Grabbing Art Self Defense Technique # 20 (Defense Against Two Attackers)

Defender steps out with a left crescent step toward the 9:00 direction, then turns toward the 9:00 direction shifting the stance into a "Low Left Kneeling Stance" facing to 9:30. Pulling on the Attacker # 2's arms which will put Attacker # 2 direct in line with Attacker # 1's right cross punch.

02. Defender from the "Low Left Kneeling Stance" facing to 9:30, is pulling and rolling down (twisting down) on Attacker # 2's arm with both of the Defender's hands using the weight of the stance shift.  As the "Bear Hug Hold" loosens, the Defender grasps the back of Attacker # 2's right wrist with the Defender's left hand in such a way that the Defender's left hand is positioned so that the left thumb of the Defender is on the inside of  Attacker # 2's right wrist and palm on Attacker # 2's little finger side with the Defender's left fingers wrapped across the back of Attacker # 2's right fist and grasping the palm of Attacker # 2's right fist on the thumb side. The Defender squeezes then bends Attacker # 2's right wrist toward Attacker # 2's right elbow. As this motion is accomplished the Defender simultaneously executes a right palm down short inward forearm strike to the back of Attacker # 2's elbow on the triceps side. This combination "Jams" Attacker # 2's right arm and wrists bending the said wrist even more and forcing Attacker # 2 to release the "Bear Hug Hold". The Defender grasps Attacker # 2's right wrist and arm to assist Defender's left hand.

03. Defender stands up and crescent steps forward with the right foot toward 11:00 into a "Riding Horse Stance" facing to 8:30.

04. Defender from the "Riding Horse Stance" executes a right palm facing down forearm and bottom fist strike to Attacker # 1's floating rib and kidney on Attacker # 1's right side.

05. Defender reacquires the grasp on Attacker # 2's right wrist with the Defender's right hand, then steps with the Defender's left foot forward, around toward the 10:00 direction. (a wide Ba Qua Chang "T" step) while maintaining the grasp on Attacker # 2's right wrist with both of the Defender's hands.

06. Defender weights the Defender's left foot then steps back with the Defender's right foot toward 8:00 into a "Left Forward Stance" facing to 2:00.

07. Defender lets go of Attacker # 2's right wrist with the Defender's right hand, drops the arm down and around in a counter clockwise motion, circling the arm around and striking Attacker # 2's right arm just above Attacker # 2's right elbow on the right triceps side with the blade edge(little finger side) of the Defender's right arm.

08. Defender executes a right front snap kick to Attacker # 2's solar plexus.

09. Defender grabs Attacker # 2's right shoulder or next to the base of the back of Attacker # 2's neck and proceeds to pull down on Attacker # 2's shoulder or neck and push up with the Defender's left hand and arm on Attacker # 2's right wrist locked hand.  Defender then executes a "Left Front Thrust Side Snap Kick" to Attacker # 1's solar plexus and ribs.

10. Defender steps back with the Defender's left kicking leg toward 11:00, pulls Attacker # 2 down to the ground lets go and shuffles back into a guarded stance while looking around in all directions for other potential attackers.

Grabbing Art Self Defense Technique # 21 (Defense Against Two Attackers)

Defender leans back against Attacker # 2's body (hidden move is a back head butt to Attacker # 2's chin, face, eye, nose etc.)

02. Defender executes a "Right Inward High Crescent Kick" to Attacker # 1's on coming right cross punch, knocking the punch away toward 9:00 and down.

03. Defender without stepping down with the right crescent kicking leg, executes a right snap kick targeting Attacker # 1's groin. Defender jumps up with the Defender's left leg using the momentum of the right snap kicking leg (the fast raising up of the Defender's right knee and the leaning back on Attacker # 2's body aides in the left jump kick) to execute a left snap front kick (45 degree up angle as Attacker # 1 bends over from the reaction of the right front snap kick to Attacker # 1's groin) targeting Attacker # 1's lower solar plexus.

04. Defender lifts the left kicking leg knee up to crescent step with the left kicking leg toward the 9:00 direction into a "Riding Horse Stance" facing to 12:00 while maintaining the two handed grab on Attacker # 2's arms. (The lifting of the left knee can be, if Attacker # 1 bends over far enough, a left knee lift to Attacker # 1's chin).

05. Defender from the "Riding Horse Stance" facing to 12:00 executes a left and right simultaneous double punch toward 12:00.  (The Defender tucks the Defender's chin to the Defender's chest, concaves the Defender's chest and abdomen, and bends over at the waist toward 12:00, and jams the Defender's hips and butt into Attacker # 2. If the Defender crescent steps toward the 9:30 or 10:00 direction into the "Riding Horse Stance", the double simultaneous left and right punch actual strikes Attacker # 1 in the chest on the solar plexus line.  The impact adds to the power of the hips and butt strike and punches when timed correctly)

06. Defender stands up into a high riding horse stance while rising up with both of the Defender's elbows accompanied with the shoulder upward shrug and backward head butt. The Defender's fists are facing each other with the Defender's arms held out parallel to the ground.

07. Defender executes a "Right Rear Elbow Strike" to Attacker # 2's solar plexus and "Left Rear Over the Right Shoulder Punch" to Attacker # 2's face. (left eye spear hand optional)

08. Defender grabs Attacker # 2's right arm with the Defender's left hand near Attacker # 2's right wrist (right over the shoulder and hip throw) while simultaneously grabbing the upper right shoulder of Attacker # 2 with the Defender's right hand. (an option is Attacker # 2's hair at the back of Attacker # 2's head or execute a right elbow pointing down back fist to Attacker # 2's right temple before grabbing Attacker # 2's upper right shoulder. Defender executes a right shoulder and hip throw on Attacker # 2. Attacker # 2 lands with Attacker # 2's head at between the 8:00 to 10:00 direction and Attacker # 2's feet between the 2:00 to 4:00 direction. As Attacker # 2 lands, the Defender grabs, with both of the Defender's hands, Attacker # 2's right wrist so that the Defender's hands are palm facing down and Attacker # 2's right palm is facing up. The last two fingers of the Defender's hands are grasping the last two fingers (little and ring) of Attacker # 2's right hand.  The Defender's thumbs are pressing into Attacker # 2's right heel of the hand.  The Defender's index and middle fingers are on the back of Attacker # 2's right hand.  Defender is pulling back and lifting up on Attacker # 2's right hand and wrist.  The motion is like pulling back on a fishing pole to snag a fish.

09. Defender executes a right snap kick to just below Attacker # 2's right shoulder blade or a right heel stomp to Attacker # 2's right arm pit.

10. Defender lets go of Attacker # 2's right arm steps back with the right foot into a guarded stance while looking around in all directions for other potential attackers
