Definitely increases the need for "non-lethal" "less than brutal" more "Bad-guy friendly" :) means to deal with these kinds of threats. Regardless, as you say, it is a shame that we live in such a litigious society that we have to worry about the consequences of squashing some as#$%^ face in an encounter where he/ they clearly need it. Alot of what we train considers the civil liabilitiy threats we face as a result of this reality.
