Frank Suan of CHA 3 passed away

I read on Facebook that CHA 3 senior practitioner (I use that title because I don't know their official one) Frank Suan had passed away.

Rest in peace.

FRANCISCO “FRANK” “ICOY” SUAN

Age 87, of Waipio Valley, HI, passed away September 5, 2012 at St. Francis Hospice-West. Born May 12, 1925 in Honolulu. Frank was an Army veteran, musician, truck and bus driver. Co-founder & Professor in the martial arts of Kenpo. Inducted into the Kujukenbo Hall of Fame by Sijo Adriano D. Emperado. Later, he became a Jehovah Witness of the Waikalani Congregation.
He is survived by wife, Lenie Suan; sons, Douglas Suan, Melvin Gedarro, Garrick “Ace/Kahi” (Yve) Gedarro; daughters, Kathleen Suan Miyashiro, Donna Suan, Sharon (Kevin) McKenzie, Stephanie Gedarro Lewis, Malama “Helen” Gedarro; brother, Jose Suan Cole; 21 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation 5:30 p.m. Sunday (September 30) at Mililani Mortuary Mauka Chapel; Funeral Service 6:30 p.m.
 

Professor Suan was one of the Co-Founders of CHA3.

Thoughts & prayers. Sincere condolences to the Suan and Bonachita Families.

THE PASSING OF SENIOR CHIEF INSTRUCTOR KENNETH BONACHITA.

SENIOR CHIEF BONACHITA WAS THE BROTHER IN LAW OF OUR FOUNDER, PROFESSOR MARINO TIWANAK. SENIOR CHIEF BONACHITA OPENED THE C.H.A.3 KENPO KAUAI BRANCH IN THE EARLY 1960'S.

HE HAS SEVERAL CHIEF INSTRUCTORS, BLACK BELT INSTRUCTORS, AND MANY STUDENTS WHO HAVE TRAINED UNDER HIS GUIDANCE.

SENIOR CHIEF INSTRUCTOR KENNETH BONACHITA PASSED AWAY AT THE AGE OF 82. SERVICES WILL BE HELD ON THE ISLAND OF KAUAI, HAWAII.

Genaro “Kenneth” Bonachita, 83, of Hanapepe, Kauai, an Olokele Sugar Co. mill mechanic, died in Hale Kupuna Heritage Home. He was born in Makaweli, Kauai. He is survived by wife Evelyn R.; sons Michael and Joseph G.; daughters Sharlene Valdez, Kareen Gardner, Debbie Ponting, Beverly Kauahi, Judith L. Carino, Jacquelyn K. Braun and Jessie C. Barretto; sister Blanche Christobal; 26 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Visitation: 9 a.m. Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Lihue. Services: 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Lihue Cemetery.


My condolence to Senior Chief Instructor Bonachita and his family.
