Gabe Vargas Banned From Kajukenbo

I am posting a copy of this letter at the request of GM Harper:

August 20, 2014

Gabriel M. Vargas,

The founder of Kajukenbo, Adriano D. Emperado, expelled and expunged you over 30 years ago for your horrendous and inexcusable behavior. Only after his passing did you resurface. In light of your recent re-appearance out of hiding, along with all the events that have followed, I am sending you this formal notification. This statement will also be shared with the Kajukenbo community and with other public forums.

As Senior Instructor of Gumataotao Kajukenbo and Head Instructor of Kajupit MMA, and on behalf of the schools under me, which are listed below, I hereby ban you from participating in, attending, visiting or making any contact with any of the schools or members of the schools listed here. This includes any events held or sponsored by these same members and schools.

As Sijo Emperado’s personal bodyguard and a Kajukenbo Grand Master, it is my responsibility to maintain the integrity of Kajukenbo. It is also my duty to protect those who cannot protect themselves and standby those who have already been affected by you in any way.
 
You are not, and never will be, recognized by myself and those listed here as having any rank in, or any affiliation with, Kajukenbo.

Gabe Vargas,

Let it be known that you have never been welcomed back since your banning by Sijo Emperado and GGM Charles Gaylord many years ago.

Your actions are unforgivable.   

Our Gaylord Method prayer states that the reason we train is "To protect ourselves and our loved ones, from dangers that are forced upon us"...  You Mr. Vargas are the danger and will not be welcome in our events.

As president of the KAA, it is my duty to make sure the actions of your past never happen again.  There is nothing that can be done to ever lift this ban.  I'm sure you are aware of this because you waited for the passing of Sijo and GGM to resurface.   

Furthermore, note that if you attempt to promote anyone to any degree, it will no longer be recognized by the KAA.

Today, KOA has confirmed that Gabe Vargas is no longer a member of their organization, and will not be allowed to attend any of their events.

I, Gerry Scott acknowledge and support the letter by Senior Grandmaster Dechi Emperado, KSDI, that Gabe Vargas has no standing in Kajukenbo and his KSDI rank has been censored forever.  Also, he does not and/or had any authority to promote anyone in Kajukenbo since Sijo and GGM Gaylord removed him from their respective organizations.

Within the letter of KSDI, rumor has become fact. With that, one must honor the wishes of GGM Sijo Adriano D. Emperado and GGM Charles Gaylord. As a student of KSDI, and a Instuctor of the Kajukenbo System.  I Support the Ban Issued by SGM Deichi  Emperado, concerning Gabe Vargas. Not knowing the truth of years past, a decision of this magnitude  is to be weighed heavily.
 In Kajukenbo, Emperado’s  teachings has always been to first respect the rank, for the man must earn your respect. As in the Kajukenbo Oath…”Respect is earned and not given" . It is sad moment, when  a darkness overshadows all the merits of an individual and forever cast uncertainty because of an unforgiving act, or acts.
In the Vargas case,  I can not respect the man or the rank.

I fully support the decision to remove him forever from Kajukenbo and any of the events under it's umbrella.
It was a sad day when he was brought back into the fold, with the people responsible having full knowledge of his past. The world of Martial Arts, and more specifically Kajukenbo have suffered a black eye, and to some extent a well deserved black eye by allowing such a thing to happen.
An individual may commit many crimes and be forgiven, but the life long emotional scars, guilt, self-loathing and shame that follow children of sexual abuse deserves no forgiveness in my humble opinion.
I wish to thank those responsible for helping to remove such an individual from the art we love.

  I Grand Master Rick kingi along with Kingi's Kajukenbo also honor the ban on Gabe Vargas along with my East Coast Schools under me Black Drangon Kajukenbo Sigung Robert Molina Sigung Robert Dutilly, Youman's Kajukenbo Sigung Charles Youman, Sigung Mark Smith Kajukenbo with Sifu Gabreil Rodriquez, Brandon Chambers Kajukenbo with Sifu Brandon Chambers, GM Doug Bunda's Kajukenbo. I saw him at Long Beach International just this year and took a picture with him also when I went to Portugal he rode next to me well now I know the fact's and it won't happen again. We are the protector's of Kajukenbo Thank you SGM DeChi for ban.
