There was a wonderful turnout for Sr. Grand Master Frank Conway's Memorial this past Sunday. Along with his daughters and family and friends and quite a few Law Enforcement Officers that he served with over the years, G.M. John Ramos, G.M. Joe Davis, G.M. Tom Barros-Mitose, G.M. Woody Sims, G.M. Mitch Powell, G.M. Joseph Bautista & G.M. Frank Bianchi were also in attendance. Also from the Kajukenbo world were Donna Ramos, Rick Williams and some of his students, Mani & Carmen Esquivel and a few of his students, Jeff Smith, Donnie Togisala, Jimmy Cooper, Ray Bitagon, Brandon Bitagon, Vince Williams, Tito Alvarez, Nathan & Lucy Alvarez, Jerrid Alvarez, Jazzlyn Alvarez, Jonathan Wood, Andy Marquez, Dave Wallace, Tim Vargas, Jerry & Julie Jaeger & Bill Ladley. As a fitting tribute to Sr. G.M. Conway,Tai Sigung Williams and his students performed Pinan # 11/the Dance of Death that afternoon. The Fairfield Police Dept. Color Guard presented the flag to his daughters in a moving ceremony. Betty and myself will never forget the many kindnesses done for us by Frank Conway and the great friendship we had with him. The Kajukenbo world lost a true Gentleman and a tough player, one we could not afford to lose. Take care Frank, until we see you again. Aloha.
