Hi Folks, I found a post by Sifu Tyrrell on liability insurance from July 2003 and thought it might help. Here's part of it:

"Markel Insurance is my current carrier.  Pretty easy going on the wallet in most cases.  They did just make it tougher for our full contact sparring - regardless of the gear.  For regular point fighting they require head gear, mouth guard, and groin protection.  There is limited contact areas, but are they let you play.  They ask your style, facility (sq footage as well as mat/no mat,) and use of weapons."

Thank you for finding me this information.  I'm primarily looking for a martial arts insurance carrier that will also cover weapons sparring.

A lot of Kajukenbo schools use:  www.karateinsurance.com   They seem to have good coverage for a reasonable price.  They also list the schools who use them on their website, you'll probably recognize some of the school.

Mr. Bishop,  Please forgive me for not addressing you by proper title, but I'm tired and my eyes are burning.  I looking for insurance for an association I'm assisting with starting and came across karateinsurance.com.  I notice you mentioned them in Sept 2005 and would like to know if still recommend them.

I still do, but I've never had to file a claim, so I can't comment on their service.  Maybe someone else here can. 
They do have a very long list of referances, with a lot of Kajukenbo schools on the list.
